The useful comparison is not the advertised fee or rate alone. It is the destination amount received for the same total AED debit, at the same speed and payout method.
| Route | Typical pricing shape | Check before paying |
|---|---|---|
| Bank | Transfer fee, bank FX margin and possible correspondent or recipient-bank charges. | Final recipient amount, SWIFT charges, delivery estimate and whether fees are shared or sender-paid. |
| Exchange house | Posted remittance rate plus a fixed service fee. Cash pickup and account credit can price differently. | The buy or remittance rate, fee, payout partner, collection requirements and refund terms. |
| App | Displayed rate margin plus a service fee. Card or wallet funding can add a separate cost. | Total AED charged, recipient amount, funding fee, transfer speed and local licensing or regulated partner. |
For the same AED amount, calculate: (reference recipient amount − provider recipient amount) ÷ reference recipient amount × 100. That is the effective rate gap. Add all fixed sender and recipient fees separately.
The spread changes by corridor, amount, funding method, payout method, time and promotion. The CBUAE Consumer Protection Standards require licensed institutions to show the exchange rate, buy-sell difference and fees separately before the transaction. The World Bank methodology likewise treats the exchange-rate margin as part of total remittance cost.
AED is fixed at 3.6725 per USD. For USD-base feeds such as USD/INR, one AED to INR equals the live USD/INR rate divided by 3.6725. For EUR/USD, GBP/USD and AUD/USD, the tool inverts the feed first, then applies the same cross-rate method.
Market references come from Pyth Network price feeds through the public Hermes latest-price API. Some FX feeds are described by Pyth as offshore spot prices. This is not a bank, exchange-house or remittance quote.
One AED to INR equals Pyth's live USD/INR reference rate divided by 3.6725. Reverse conversions use the reciprocal.
This tool uses AED 3.6725 per USD. Retail buy and sell rates can still differ because providers add margins and fees.
Pyth is a market reference. Customer prices can include an exchange-rate margin, transfer fee, correspondent charge, payout cost and rounding.
Compare the final destination amount for the same total AED debit, all sender and recipient fees, delivery time, payout method, refund terms and provider licensing.
