Ramadan 2027 is won in October

Every January, the same panic. A brief lands in our inbox: "We want to do something big for Ramadan." The shoot needs to happen in three weeks, the creators are already booked, and CPMs are climbing by the day. The work goes out late, pays a premium, and looks like everyone else's.

Here is the uncomfortable truth: Ramadan is the Super Bowl of GCC marketing, and Super Bowl ads are not planned in the parking lot. The brands that win - the ones whose films get shared after iftar - locked their concept before the year ended. Strategy in October. Casting and production in November and December. Media booked in January, when inventory is still sane.

The payoff is not just cost. Early planning buys you the two things money cannot rush: a story worth telling, and time to make it properly. You get first pick of directors and creators. You get to shoot in real locations instead of compositing. You get to test the cut with real audiences and fix what does not land.

So if Ramadan matters to your brand - and in this market, it should - start now. The best time to plan Ramadan was six months ago. The second-best time is this week.
