On-Page SEO Checklist for UAE Websites
A ruthless on-page SEO checklist for UAE websites: titles, intent match, EN/AR pages, WhatsApp CTAs, schema, and mobile proof that converts.
On-page SEO is the unglamorous work that makes keyword research real. Titles, headings, body copy, internal links, media, and structured data—executed so a phone user in JLT understands you within five seconds and Google understands the page’s job. This is a checklist you can run page by page, not a theory seminar.
Use it on money pages first: services, categories, location pages that deserve to exist, and product templates.
Before you touch a title tag
Confirm three facts:
- Primary query/intent for this URL (one primary, a few secondaries)
- Primary conversion (WhatsApp, call, book, add to cart)
- Language of the page (English, Arabic, or intentional bilingual sections—not accidental mix)
If those are fuzzy, fix strategy before micro-optimising meta tags.
The page-level checklist
1) URL and indexability
- Clean URL with readable words (
/ac-repair-dubai/, not/page_id=77) - Self-canonical correct; no accidental noindex on live money pages
- HTTPS, no mixed-content warnings that break trust icons
- Only one preferred host (www vs non-www) and one language URL for this content
2) Title tag (your SERP billboard)
- Includes primary phrase naturally
- Differentiates UAE/Dubai/area when relevant
- Sells a reason to click (speed, warranty, AED transparency, niche specialty)
- Roughly unique across the site—no twenty titles that only change the suburb name by one word if content is identical
Example direction: Emergency Plumber in JLT & Marina | 24/7 | WhatsApp Quote beats Home | Al Fulan Services LLC.
3) Meta description
- Expands the promise; includes a CTA verb
- Mentions proof or differentiator (licensed, same-day, Arabic-speaking team)
- Not keyword salad; written for humans skimming on mobile SERPs
4) Headings and scannability
- One H1 aligned to the primary intent
- H2/H3s answer real sub-questions (price bands, process, areas, FAQs)
- Arabic pages use natural heading language, not reversed English syntax
5) First screen (mobile)
- Clear offer in the first viewport
- Tap targets for Call and WhatsApp work with fat fingers
- Trust cue visible early: rating summary, years in market, license mention, payment icons if ecommerce
- No full-screen popup blocking the first interaction (especially painful on mid-range Androids common in the market)
6) Body content that matches intent
- Answers the query in the first 100–150 words without throat-clearing
- Specific to UAE context: AED, neighbourhoods, delivery/service constraints, summer heat, building access, VAT where relevant
- Proof: photos of real work, team, clinic rooms, plates of food—not only stock
- Avoids miracle claims in regulated categories (health, finance)
7) Media
- Compressed images; modern formats where possible
- Descriptive file names and alt text (helpful, not stuffed)
- Videos hosted without destroying LCP (lazy appropriate below fold)
8) Internal links
- Links up to parent category/service hub
- Links down to supporting guides or related services
- Descriptive anchors (“AC maintenance plans in Dubai”) not “click here”
- Language-consistent links (EN pages to EN; AR to AR) with a visible switcher
9) Structured data (when accurate)
- LocalBusiness / Restaurant / MedicalClinic / Product / FAQ only if true
- Prices and availability not fabricated
- Tested in Rich Results / schema validators
10) Conversion and trust footer of the content
- FAQ section that mirrors People Also Ask language
- Clear next step repeated near the end
- Contact details consistent with GBP and invoices
UAE-specific on-page notes
Bilingual pages: If English and Arabic share one URL via a widget, you are usually fighting SEO with one hand. Prefer dedicated URLs and mirrored quality—not a 400-word English page and a 40-word Arabic stub.
AED transparency: You do not need a full public price list for custom work, but ranges and “what affects price” sections reduce bounce and low-quality WhatsApps.
Ramadan and hours: For F&B and clinics, opening hours and seasonal menus belong on-page and in business profiles, not only in Instagram stories that expire.
Free-zone businesses: State where you operate and how clients engage (site visit, warehouse pickup, online only). Ambiguity kills conversion even if you rank.
A 60-minute on-page sprint for one service page
- SERP-check the primary query; note what page-one results emphasise.
- Rewrite title + H1 + first paragraph.
- Add or fix WhatsApp CTA and one proof block.
- Add three FAQs unique to your delivery model.
- Add two internal links from related pages.
- Request indexing in Search Console if substantially improved.
- Note baseline impressions/CTR/conversions for a 28-day comparison.
Illustrative scenario: a Jumeirah dental page swaps a vague H1 (“Welcome”) for treatment-focused language, adds Arabic twin for implant queries, and places WhatsApp booking above the fold. Rankings may move slowly; conversion rate can improve immediately.
Common on-page mistakes in the Emirates
- Copying Gulf competitors word-for-word (duplicate risk + zero brand)
- English titles on Arabic body content
- Hiding the phone number to “force” forms
- Publishing location pages with identical blocks and one swapped word
- Stuffing every neighbourhood into one paragraph hoping to rank for all
On-page mistakes that quietly kill CTR
- Do not measure success only by keyword colour in a rank tracker.
- Do not add schema that lies about reviews or prices.
- Do not ship pages that look complete on desktop Safari but break CTAs on Chrome Android.
Weekly habit
Pick two URLs from Search Console with impressions and weak CTR or weak conversion. Run this checklist. Small, constant on-page upgrades compound faster than quarterly “website redesign” fantasies that never launch.
